Why Must We Know God in Our Heart?
Ephesians 3:17: “…that Christ may make His
home in your hearts through faith…”
Philippians 4:7: “…the peace of God… will guard your hearts and your thoughts
in Christ Jesus.”
Jeremiah 31:33–34: “…I will put My law in their inward parts and write it upon
their hearts… they will all know Me.”
Aspect |
Why Must We Know God in Our Heart? |
Meaning |
To know God in
our heart is not merely an objective, religious knowledge but a subjective,
experiential knowing. God is not only great and infinite but also small enough
to dwell within us, especially in our conscience, so that we may experience
Him in the details of our daily life. |
Reason |
1. God is greater than our heart (1 John
3:20), reminding and governing us through our
conscience. |
Method |
1. Pay attention to the feeling of the
conscience: whenever the conscience disturbs
us, it is God’s inner reminder. |
Examples |
-
If a husband shows a poor attitude toward his wife, though he thinks he is
right, God disturbs his conscience. |
Application |
1.
Not only know God in great matters, but experience Him in small things and
details. |
Related Scriptures |
- 1 John 3:19–21: “If our heart condemns
us, God is greater than our heart and knows all things…” |
Core Point:
God desires to be known not merely in outward greatness
but in inward experience, in our conscience and heart.
Conclusion:
Knowing God in our heart allows us to experience Him in a
living, practical way. This brings peace, boldness, and real fellowship with
Him, making the infinite God real and present in our daily life.
