Descendants of Abraham vs Children of Abraham
Romans 9:7 Nor are all of them children because they
are descendants of Abraham, but only through Isaac will your descendants be counted.
Romans 9:8 This means that
children of the flesh are not the children of God, but
only the children of the promise are counted as descendants.
Gal. 3:16 The promise was made
to Abraham and to his descendants. It does not say, “and to your
descendants,” as if referring to many people, but “and
to your seed,” referring to one person, Christ.
Gal. 3:29 If you belong to
Christ, then you are Abraham's descendants, heirs according to the promise.
