The Flock vs. The Fold
Core Revelation:
The sheepfold represents a temporary religious institution
that protects people; the
flock represents the church produced by the
life of Christ.
God's purpose is not to keep the sheep in the sheepfold forever, but to lead them out of the sheepfold and into the pasture, making them a flock, building up the body of Christ under the one and only Great Shepherd.

Revelation
1. God's goal is never religion but Christ Himself.
2. God does not want His people to
remain in religious systems.
3. The church is
produced by life, not by organization.
4. Christianity as a religious
system can become another "fold."
5. The genuine
church is the issue of Christ's life, not outward forms.
Conclusion:
The fold can
never replace the flock.
John 10 reveals two major works of Christ.
First,
Christ calls
His sheep out of the fold.
Second,
Christ gathers all His redeemed
sheep into one flock.
Therefore, God's intention is not to enlarge the fold but to gain one
flock.
This one flock is:
- One Body
- One Shepherd
- One Head
- One Spirit
- One New Man
This is the practical church life.

One-Sentence
Prophesying Summary
Christ did not come to improve the fold but to call His
sheep out of it. He gathers all His redeemed people into one flock under the
one Shepherd through the shepherding of the divine life, building up the Body
of Christ for the ultimate consummation of the New Jerusalem.
Concluding
Revelation
The Fold
belongs to God's temporary arrangement; the
Flock belongs to God's eternal purpose.
The spiritual progression revealed in John 10 is:
The Fold → Christ's Calling → Leaving the Fold → Entering
the Pasture → One Flock → The Body of Christ → The
Bride → The New Jerusalem.
This progression unveils God's eternal economy:
not to preserve a religious system, but to gain an organic, living flock under Christ, the
unique Shepherd, for the building up of His Body and the consummation of the
New Jerusalem.
