Aspect

The Fourfold Life Supply of the Saints” — From Luke 11:1–13

Meaning

The “fourfold life supply of the saints” refers to the believer being brought into God through prayer, experiencing and receiving the Triune God as life supply. The four itemsbread, fish, egg, and the Holy Spirit—represent God’s full provision in all aspects.

Symbols

Bread Earthly riches, signifying Christ as our daily supply (Matt. 6:11).
FishRiches of the sea, signifying Christ’s life released through His death (John 6:9–13).
Egg Riches of the air and the earth, signifying new life and hope in resurrection (John 11:25).
The Holy Spirit The totality of all riches, signifying the all-inclusive, complete life supply (Luke 11:13).

Method

1. Pray into Godnot merely for things, but to enter into His presence.
2. Abide in Godremain in continual fellowship through prayer.
3. Ask for Him as our supplyseek the Father for bread, fish, and egg, that is, for the Spirit’s reality.

Explanation

The Lord taught His disciples to pray not just for needs but to be brought into God through prayer. There we receive His riches as our life supply. The bread, fish, and egg signify the different aspects of God’s riches, and the Holy Spirit is their consummation. Any prayer that does not bring us into God is not proper prayer.

Examples

1. Jesus often prayed in the wilderness to stay one with the Father (Luke 5:16).
2. Peter prayed and received a vision that brought new spiritual supply (Acts 10:9–16).
3. Paul prayed in prison and was strengthened by God’s grace (Phil. 4:6–13).

Application

1. Spend time with the Lord every morning to be brought into Him (Psa. 5:3).
2. Adjust your prayer so it brings you to God, not away from Him.
3. Let what you receive from God flow out to nourish others (Acts 6:4).

Purpose

That believers may be filled with God’s life, experience the all-inclusive Spirit, become channels of life supply to others, and be filled with divine light.

Burden

God desires His children not merely to pray for needs, but to pray into God, experience His riches, and receive the Spirit as their inward supply to become sources of light and life to others.

Prophetic Direction

1. Prayer is not just words—it is an entering into God.
2. The principle: if a prayer doesn’t bring you to God, change it.
3. We are supplied to supply others.
4. Constantly call on the Lord’s name—“O Lord Jesus!”—to remain in Him (Rom. 10:13).

Conclusion

When believers follow the pattern in Luke 11, they are brought into God and receive the fourfold life supplybread, fish, egg, and the Holy Spirit. Filled with divine riches and light, they become shining ones (Luke 11:33–36).
