Six Principles for Christ to be Formed in Believers
Ephesians 1:17-18 "That
the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit
of wisdom and revelation in the full knowledge of Him, the eyes of your heart having been enlightened..."
Romans 6:6 "Knowing this, that our old man has been crucified with Him in order that the
body of sin might be annulled, that we should
no longer serve sin as slaves."
Exodus 6:6-8 "Therefore say to the children of
Israel, I am Jehovah, and I will... redeem you... and
I will... bring you to the land which I swore
to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob..."
Philippians 2:5 "Let this
mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus."
Galatians 3:26, 29 "For you
are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus... And if you are of Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, heirs
according to promise."
Ephesians 1:13-14 "In whom
you also... having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of the
promise, who is the pledge of our inheritance..."

1. No Seeing, No Obtaining (Christ) |
God desires to
reveal His Son in us. This revelation is not external but internal; not through outward visions but through inward seeing. Without this inner revelation, we cannot truly obtain Christ. |
Paul's experience on the Damascus road where God revealed His
Son in him, enabling Paul to know Christ and receive Him as life. |
We need to pray that God would open our spiritual eyes so
that we can see Christ, know Him, and receive Him as
our life and everything. |
Galatians 1:15-16
"But when it pleased God, who separated me from
my mother's womb and called me through His grace, to reveal His Son in me,
that I might preach Him among the Gentiles..." |
2. No Dying, No Living |
We must be crucified with Christ; our old self must die so that Christ can live in us. This is an organic union through our co-death and co-living with
Christ, enabling Him to become our life. |
Paul's testimony: "I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no
longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me." |
Daily deny the
self, take up the cross, and follow the Lord; practice not living
according to our own preferences and thoughts, but
according to the indwelling Christ. |
Galatians 2:20 "I am crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who
live, but it is Christ who lives in me; and the life which I now live
in the flesh I live in faith, the faith of the Son
of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me." |
3. No Exodus (from Egypt-the world), No Entrance (into
the Good Land-Christ) |
We must be delivered from the present evil religious system
of the world before we can enter into the full
experience and enjoyment of Christ, just as the Israelites had to leave
Egypt before entering Canaan. |
The history of Israel's exodus from Egypt and entrance into Canaan;
Paul testified that Christ "gave Himself for
our sins that He might rescue us out of the
present evil age." |
Reject the values and lifestyle
of the world; no longer rely on religious
practices of keeping the law for justification, but
rely solely on Christ and live in Him. |
Galatians 1:4 "Who gave Himself for our sins that He might rescue us out of the present evil age according to the will of our God and Father." John 15:4-5 "Abide in Me and I in you. As the branch cannot bear
fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. I am the vine; you are the
branches. He who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit..." Ephesians 3:17 "That Christ may make His home in your hearts through faith..." |
4. No Abiding, No Fruit-bearing |
We must abide in Christ and maintain an organic union with Him in
order to bear the fruit of life. Christ must make His home in our hearts and
settle in us before He can produce fruit in our lives. |
The relationship between the vine and the branches; Christ making His home in our hearts and permeating our
entire being, dwelling in us. |
Practice daily
communion with the Lord, draw near to Him continually, let His word dwell in
us richly; maintain an unbroken life union with the Lord. |
|
5. No Yielding, No Formation |
We must allow Christ to permeate all the inward parts of our
being, to possess our entire person, to saturate and permeate our mind,
emotion, and will, so that He can be formed in us. |
Paul travailing again in birth for the believers until Christ
is formed in them; Christ making His home in our hearts, possessing our
entire being. |
Open our mind,
emotion, and will to the Lord; let Christ's mind become our mind; let His
love fill our emotion; let His will become our will. |
Galatians 4:19 "My children, with whom I travail again in birth until
Christ is formed in you." Ephesians 4:23 "And
that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind." Galatians 4:5-7 "That
He might redeem those under law that we might
receive the sonship. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit
of His Son into our hearts, crying, Abba, Father! So then you are no longer a
slave but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God." |
6. No Formation, No Inheritance |
Christ must be
formed in us before we can become full-grown sons, heirs to inherit God's
promised blessing, and mature in the divine sonship. |
In the Old Testament, God's chosen people were regarded as infants, but
in the New Testament, believers are regarded as
full-grown sons who will inherit the promised blessing, which is Christ as
the all-inclusive Spirit. |
Pursue
spiritual maturity, not remaining in the stage of spiritual infancy; allow Christ to develop fully in us so that we can
fully enjoy all the riches God has given us. |
Conclusion:
This table details the six key principles for
Christ to be formed in believers, illustrating the
process of spiritual growth from initial faith to maturity. These
principles collectively portray a complete spiritual
journey:
l First, we need to see Christ, receiving God's revelation of His Son in us;
then, we must be crucified with Christ, allowing our
old self to die; next, we need to come out of
the world to enter into the full experience of Christ; furthermore, we
need to abide in Christ, maintaining an organic union
with Him; we also need to allow Christ to
possess our entire being, permeating all our inward parts; finally, when Christ is fully formed in us, we can become mature sons
who fully inherit God's promised inheritance.
l These six principles are not only interconnected but also progressive, showing the complete journey of a believer's life growth in Christ.
Each step builds upon the previous one, guiding believers from initial faith to maturity, ultimately
reaching the fullness of divine sonship.
