The
Main Purpose of Jesus' Descent to Earth
The main purpose of the Lord
Jesus coming down from heaven to earth was to accomplish one central matter: to give
Himself as food (the bread of life) to us, so that we can eat Him as spiritual nourishment and digest Him to become our constitution—verses 50-51.
John 6:56-57 "Whoever
feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. As the
living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father,
so whoever feeds on me, he also will live because of
me."
John 6:68 "Simon Peter answered him, 'Lord, to whom shall we go? You
have the words of eternal life.'"
