Our Heart as the Home of the Self vs Our Heart as the Home of Christ
Matthew 16:22 Peter pulled him
aside and rebuked him, saying, “Lord, God has mercy on you; this will never
happen to you.”
Matthew 16:23 But he turned to
Peter and said, “Get behind me, Satan! You are my stumbling block, for you set
your mind on human things rather than on things concerning God.”
Ephesians 3:17 That Christ
might make his home in your hearts through faith, that you might be rooted and
established in love,
Ephesians 3:18 that you might
be filled with power, together with all God’s people, to understand the
breadth, length, height, and depth,
Ephesians 3:19 and to know the
love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you might be filled to the
fullness of God.

Prophetic Summary
When the heart is the self's
home, we express ourselves; when the heart is Christ's
home, we express Christ.
*Ultimate
Conclusion
The central revelation of Epistle to the Ephesians 3 is not merely that Christ dwells in us.
It is that Christ desires to make His home in our heart.
This means:
- Not an
occasional guest
- Not a temporary
visitor
- But
the permanent Owner
The reality of the church depends on how many believers
allow their hearts to become Christ's home.
The ultimate consummation is New Jerusalem —
God and man mutually indwelling one another.
