“The Covenant-Keeping God – Throne of Grace vs. The Judging God – Throne of Judgment”

“The Covenant-Keeping God – Throne of Grace vs. The Judging God – Throne of Judgment”

Hebrews 4:16 Therefore let us approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may be recipients of mercy and receive grace to help in our time.

Revelation 4:2 Immediately I was in the Spirit. Behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one God sat on it.

Revelation 22:1 Then the angel showed me a river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing out of the throne of God and of the Lamb in the middle of the city streets.

Item

Covenant-Keeping God – Throne of Grace

Judging God – Throne of Judgment

Meaning

God’s throne for dispensing mercy and grace to the redeemed (Heb. 4:16)

God’s throne for executing His administration and judgment on the fallen world (Rev. 4:2)

Reason

Based on Christ’s redemption, enabling man to approach God

Based on God’s holiness and righteousness, requiring the clearing of rebellion and corruption

Metaphor

Throne of grace, throne of mercy

Throne with lightning, voices, and thunder

Explanation

Man is cleansed by the blood and comes boldly to God to receive grace

The world is under God’s throne and subject to His righteous judgment

Mercy and grace flow out to supply believers with life

Lightning, voices, and thunder proceed to warn and judge the sinful world

Result

Man receives life, supply, and preservation

Confusion is cleared, evil is dealt with, and God’s purpose is fulfilled

Mutual Relationship

The gracious aspect of the same throne and the same God

The righteous aspect of the same throne and the same God

Example

Believers today come boldly to the throne of grace (Heb. 4:16)

God executes judgment from His throne in the end times (Rev. 6–20)

Application

We should come daily to enjoy grace and life supply

We should fear God’s government and not take sin or the world lightly

Burden

Encourage believers to draw near to God and enjoy grace

Remind people that God still sits on the throne and judgment is sure

Prophesying Guidance

“Through Christ, we may come boldly to the throne of grace to receive life supply.”

Spiritual Integrated View (Key Points)

There is only one throne, but it has two aspects:
Toward believers: the throne of grace
Toward the world: the throne of judgment

🌈 The rainbow around the throne (Rev. 4:3) shows:
God remembers His covenant in judgment (Gen. 9)
He will not destroy all humanity
Judgment is for fulfilling God’s purpose, not merely for destruction

Lightning, voices, and thunder (Rev. 4:5) show:
God’s wrath against sin
God’s governmental administration
All things are under His throne

🗣 One-Sentence Prophesying Summary

The same throne dispenses grace to believers and executes judgment on the world in order to accomplish God’s eternal purpose.”

🏁 Ultimate Conclusion

God is both the covenant-keeping God of grace and the righteous God of judgment.
His throne is life to the believers
and judgment to the world,
ultimately bringing in the new heaven
and new earth
so that all things may be under His authority and glory.
