How Do
Christians Receive the Lord’s Enlightenment? |
|
Meaning |
Enlightenment
comes from God’s mercy. Whenever
God comes and shows mercy, His face becomes our light; His appearing
becomes our seeing; His presence becomes our real gain. |
|
Reason |
Enlightenment
does
not come from human intelligence, effort, or discipline, but from God’s sovereign mercy and presence. Without
God’s coming, man cannot truly see himself or God’s will. |
|
Illustration |
Like the sun rising—the earth does not shine by itself; it shines because the sun appears. Saul did not
seek the light; the light sought him on the road to Damascus. |
|
Way |
1.
Love the Lord
singly and seek Him, willingly
accepting His shining; set the heart to desire God alone and allow Him to search and enlighten. 2.
Open ourselves
fully to the Lord, turning our heart to Him with nothing reserved; those who are closed easily condemn and criticize others. 3.
Stop ourselves—our views, feelings,
opinions, and activities—so we may come quietly
before the Lord and simply receive His word. 4.
Do not argue with the Holy Spirit’s shining, whether from within or through
His servants without; bring every thought into obedience to Christ. 5.
Live
continually in the light, not merely receiving occasional illumination, but walking daily in the light with a purified conscience. |
|
Effect |
We see our true
condition, are delivered from self-deception and darkness, are cleansed in
conscience, and live before God in life and
fellowship. |
|
Example |
Saul fell under the
great light; Mary sat at the Lord’s feet; Moses entered the tent to behold God’s face; open
hearts receive light, closed hearts fall into judgment. |
|
Application |
In prayer, the
Word, meetings, and service, learn to stop ourselves, open to the Lord, not defend ourselves, and allow His light to
shine daily. |
|
Burden |
The Lord
desires a people who live in His
face-light, accept His shining, and walk in light for the
building up of the church. |
|
Prophetic Guideline |
“Lord, I do not want darkness but Your face-light. I stop myself, open to You, and receive
all Your shining.” |
|
Overall Prophetic Summary |
Enlightenment is not
the result of human pursuit but the coming of God’s
mercy. Whoever loves the Lord, opens to Him, stops himself, does not
argue with the Spirit, and lives in the light will surely be enlightened by the Lord. |
