The Full Enjoyment of the Triune God in Eternity — The Fourfold Supply
The fourfold supply: dwelling place, drink, food, and light.
|
Aspect
|
How the
saints will enjoy the Triune God to the fullest extent in eternity through
the fourfold supply: dwelling place, drink, food, and light.
|
|
Meaning
|
1. The eternal living is to be fully in the Triune God, enjoying Him and
expressing Him.
2. The four supplies
(dwelling place, drink, food, light) are the
“spiritual necessities” for sustaining the divine life.
3. The New Jerusalem is the ultimate mutual dwelling of God and man.
|
|
Symbolism
|
1. Dwelling Place (the Father) — God as the temple, and the New Jerusalem as the mutual
habitation of God and man.
2. Drink (the Spirit)
— The river of water of life flowing out of the
throne, signifying the Spirit as eternal supply.
3. Food (the Son)
— The tree of life bearing twelve fruits monthly,
signifying Christ as the never-ending life supply.
4. Light (the redeeming God)
— God and the Lamb as the light illuminating the
city.
|
|
Distinctions
(Function of Each Supply)

eternal union.
