“The Bridegroom–Bride vs. the New Cloth–New Wine”
Matthew 25:1 Then the kingdom
of heaven will be like ten virgins who, taking their lamps, will go out to meet
the bridegroom.
John 3:29 The one who takes
the bride is the bridegroom; and the bridegroom's friends stand and listen to
him, and are glad and joyful at the sound of the bridegroom's voice; therefore
my joy is complete.
Revelation 19:7 Let us be
joyful and glad and give him glory, for the wedding of the Lamb has come, and
the bride herself has prepared herself.
Revelation 19:8 And she will
be clothed with fine linen, bright and clean, which represents the righteous
deeds of God's people.
Revelation 19:9 Then the angel
said to me, “Write this: Blessed are all who are invited to the wedding feast
of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These are the true words of God.”
Mark 2:21 No one uses unbleached
cloth to patch an old garment; otherwise, the
new patch will tear the old one, and the tear
will become larger.
Mark 2:22 No one puts new wine
into old wineskins; otherwise the wine would burst the
wineskins and both the wine and the wineskins would be ruined. But new wine is put into new wineskins.

Aspect |
Bridegroom
– Bride |
New
Cloth – New Wine |
|
Meaning |
Signifies the ultimate relationship of life, love, and union between
Christ and His redeemed people |
Signifies Christ as the believers’ outward righteousness and inward life
supply |
|
Reason |
Christ’s goal
in redemption is not merely forgiveness of sins, but to gain a Bride |
Old religious systems (fasting, law, rituals) cannot contain new life |
|
Metaphor |
The Lamb
becomes the Bridegroom to marry the prepared Bride |
New cloth for
the garment; new wine in new wineskins |
|
Effect |
Produces a
wedding, joy, glory, and eternal union |
Brings
covering, beautifying, filling, energizing, and satisfaction |
|
Explanation |
The Lamb is for
redemption; the Bridegroom is for the wedding |
The new cloth
is righteousness; the new wine is life—both are Christ Himself |
|
Mutual Relationship |
The preparation
of the Bride is for her matching with the Bridegroom |
The new cloth and new wine constitute the practical
preparation of the Bride |
|
Example |
Rev. 19: the Bride wears bright, clean fine linen and attends the wedding feast |
Mark 2: the disciples rejoice because the Bridegroom is with them |
|
Application |
Prepare on
earth in life to become a matured Bride |
Daily
experience Christ as righteousness and life, not religious practices |
|
Burden |
To show that
salvation’s goal is marriage, not merely forgiveness |
To bring people
out of old
forms into a
living Person—Christ |
|
Prophesying Guidance |
Proclaim: We are the Bride; the Lord is coming as
the Bridegroom |
Declare: Christ is our outward righteousness and inward wine |
|
Conclusion |
Christ desires
a Bride; the Bride awaits the Bridegroom |
Christ is
everything—righteousness, life, joy, and satisfaction |
