Those Who Believe in Christ Jesus Are Sons of God VS He Who Overcomes
Shall Be a Son of God
Gal. 3:26 – “For you are all
sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.”
Rev. 21:7 – “He who overcomes will inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be My son.”
| Aspect | Those Who Believe in Christ Jesus
Are Sons of God (Gal. 3:26) | He Who Overcomes Shall Be a Son of God (Rev. 21:7) |
| Meaning | Through faith
in Christ we are regenerated and receive God’s life and nature, becoming sons in His family—the beginning of our status in
  salvation. | Through faith
and overcoming, we grow to maturity, are transformed and built up, and reach glorification—becoming the overcoming sons of God,
  the completion of salvation. |
| Qualification | Whoever
believes in and receives Christ Jesus (Gal. 3:26; John 1:12) obtains
  the sonship. | Whoever
believes and overcomes (1 John 5:4–5), grows in life, and remains faithful to the end (Rev. 2–3) qualifies to inherit God’s inheritance. |
| Distinction | “Regenerated
sons” — the beginning of status; emphasizes faith and entrance into God’s family. | “Overcoming
sons” — the completion of process; emphasizes transformation and inheritance. |
| Privileges | Receives God’s
life, the indwelling Spirit, the position in God’s house, and the fellowship of His family (Rom. 8:15–17). | Inherits all of
God’s promises and possessions; partakes in the New Jerusalem’s glory and eternal enjoyment (Rev. 21:7). |
| Examples | Believers who
are newly regenerated, such as early disciples and the Galatian believers. | The overcomers
  in Revelation’s churches (Rev. 2:7, 11, 17, 26; 3:5, 12, 21). |
| Application | Believers
should rest in their sonship, enjoy God as Father, and live in the fellowship of His family. | Believers
should grow in life, overcome in spirit, remain faithful, and live out the maturity of the sons of God. |
| Relationship | “Believing to
be sons” is the entrance into God’s family and the beginning of life. | “Overcoming to
be sons” is the maturity and completion to inherit. The two are beginning and consummation of the same life process. |
| Key Point | Faith brings
life and sonship. | Victory brings
  maturity and inheritance. |
| Burden | To help
believers treasure regeneration, not staying at positional
salvation, but growing to live out the reality of sonship. | To stir
believers to pursue overcoming life, fulfilling God’s economy, and sharing His glory and expression. |
| Prophetic Guidance | Proclaim: We
are sons of God by faith—live daily in the reality of this sonship (Gal. 3:26; Rom. 8:15). | Prophesy: The
overcomers will be sons inheriting all; encourage saints to grow, overcome,
and be built (Rev. 21:7; Rom. 8:19). |
| Scripture References | John 1:12 – “As many as received Him… He gave them the
authority to become children of God.” | 1 John 5:4–5 – “Whatever is born of God overcomes the
world… who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is
  the Son of God?” |
Conclusion:
“Faith” is the entrance into sonship.
“Victory” is the consummation of sonship. Faith begins; victory completes.
