“Seeing God Is Receiving God” vs “Seeing God Equals Gaining God”

Matt. 5:8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”
2 Cor. 3:18 “From glory to glory, even as from the Lord Spirit.”

Aspect

Seeing God Is Receiving God

Seeing God Equals Gaining God

Meaning

Seeing God is not merely an outward, objective sight but an inward experience—God enters into us as life to supply and constitute us.

Seeing God means obtaining God Himself; we are constituted and transformed with His life and nature to express Him (yet not in His Godhead).

Reason

Because God is the processed and consummated Spirit; as we behold Him, His divine element enters into us to renew and transform us.

Because seeing God results in possessing all that He isHis life, nature, and glory—until we are one with Him.

Distinction

Receiving God” emphasizes the entry and renewal of divine life within us.

Gaining God” emphasizes the constitution and transformation of man with God Himself.

Explanation

To see God is to receive His element—like divine nourishment entering us to renew and transform us inwardly.

Seeing God makes us part of Him in life and nature, expressing His glory and representing Him in authority.

Example

Job “saw” God and received revelation and light; inwardly he was renewed and abhorred himself (Job 42:5–6).

Job, by seeing God, gained God experientially; Paul beheld the Lord’s glory and was transformed (2 Cor. 3:18).

Application

Each morning, in the spirit, behold the Lord and pray-read His Word, allowing His divine element to be added into us for daily renewal.

Continually behold God in the spirit so that we may be constituted with His glory, expressing and representing Him in our living.

Mutual Relationship

Receiving Godis the beginning ofgaining God”; without receiving, there is no gaining.

Gaining Godis the result ofreceiving God”; the deeper the receiving, the fuller the gainingthese are one organic process.
