“Blessed Are the Peacemakers” (Matthew 5:9)
Hebrews 12:14: "Pursue
peace with all men and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord."
Romans 15:33; 16:20: "The God of peace be with you all." "The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet."

Aspect |
“Blessed Are the Peacemakers” (Matthew 5:9) |
|
Meaning |
“Peacemakers”
are those who, in God’s divine life and nature, actively bring reconciliation, restore fellowship,
and eliminate division. This peace is not mere human compromise but the outflow of God’s own life. |
|
Reason |
The Father is “the God of peace” (Rom. 15:33; 16:20). His life and nature are
peace itself. Since we are born of Him, we
must live according to His divine nature to be true peacemakers, being led by
the Spirit as sons of God (Rom. 8:14). |
|
Result |
Peacemakers “shall
be called sons of God.” This is not
only a title but an expression of reality—showing
that they have grown in life to manifest God’s
likeness and glory (Rom. 8:19). |
|
Explanation |
Satan, the rebel, is the
instigator of all rebellion and division (Matt. 13:39; Rev. 12:9). Under the heavenly rule of the kingdom, believers must
pursue peace with all men (Heb. 12:14). True
peace is produced by living in the divine life, not by natural tolerance. |
|
Examples |
1️⃣ Jesus
Christ made peace through the cross,
reconciling all to God (Eph. 2:14–16). |
|
Application |
✦ In the church life, learn not to argue but to minister life and peace
(2 Cor. 5:18–20). |
|
Key Points |
① God
the Father is the source of peace. |
|
Related Scriptures |
Matthew 5:9: "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons
of God." Romans 8:14, 19: "All who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of
God." "For the creation eagerly awaits the revealing of the sons of
God." Galatians 3:26: "For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus." Ephesians 2:14–16: "He himself is our peace...who slew hatred through the
cross." 2 Corinthians 5:18–20:
"God reconciled us to himself through Christ
and gave us the ministry of reconciliation." |
Conclusion:
Peacemakers are
those who have grown in God’s life and express His peaceful nature. They bring
others into God’s presence and unity, manifesting the sons of God in reality
and glory (Rom. 8:19). This is a high characteristic of the kingdom people.
