The Results of the Value Transformation of a Godly Person

The Results of the Value Transformation of a Godly Person

Job 22:23-28: “If you return to the Almighty, you will be built up… If you lay gold in the dust, and the gold of Ophir among the stones of the brook, then the Almighty will be your gold and your precious silver… For then you will delight yourself in the Almighty and lift up your face to God. You will make your prayer to Him, and He will hear you… You will also declare a thing, and it will be established for you; so light will shine on your ways.”

Philippians 3:7-8: “But whatever things were gain to me, these I have counted as loss for Christ. More than that, I count all things to be loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ.”

Jeremiah 15:19: “Therefore thus says the LORD: If you return, I will restore you, and you shall stand before Me. If you utter what is precious, and not what is worthless, you shall be as My mouth. They shall turn to you, but you shall not turn to them.”

The Results of the Value Transformation of a Godly Person

Meaning

A godly person no longer treasures gold, silver, or worldly gain as supreme, but treasures God Himself as the highest joy. This fundamental transformation of values enables right choices and brings heavenly blessings.

Reason

1. Unrighteousness must be dealt with; only by discarding worldly values can one be built up in God.
2. To delight in the Almighty surpasses delight in gold and silver.
3. A godly person chooses God’s righteousness above all temporary wealth.

Examples

1. Job: In trial, discarded gold and Ophir’s treasure to delight in God (Job 22:23-28).
2. Paul: Counted all as loss, even as refuse, in order to gain Christ (Phil. 3:7-8).
3. Jeremiah: Separated the precious from the vile and became God’s mouth (Jer. 15:19).

Application

1. At the trial’s crossroad, ask: “Do I choose gold or the LORD?”
2. Help new believers to be rescued from old environments and values, turning to God’s righteousness.
3. Daily practice treasuring God above all, rejecting worldly vanity and riches.
4. In practical living, walk the path of light and receive God’s blessing.

Result

1. Prayer heard: God delights in such a choice (Job 22:27).
2. Decisions established: Plans are confirmed by the LORD (Job 22:28).
3. Path enlightened: Light shines on the way, no longer walking in darkness (Job 22:28).
4. Being used by God: Become God’s mouth, entrusted with His word (Jer. 15:19).

 Conclusion:

The transformation of values is the mark of a godly person. To treasure God above all earthly wealth brings three blessings: answered prayer, established decisions, and enlightened paths. Those who separate the precious from the vile will be entrusted and used by God. Without value discernment, one cannot be used by Him.
