Principles of God’s Work of Building

Meaning

God’s building is not accomplished solely by His omnipotence, but requires man’s cooperation and coordination with Him on earth to fulfill His eternal economy.

Way

God gives revelation, commands, and blueprints; He calls man to walk and live with Him. Man must respond in faith and obedience, fully following His word.

Examples

1. Noah building the ark (Gen. 6:13-22): Noah obeyed God’s command in faith.
2. Moses building the tabernacle (Exo. 25:1, 8-9): exactly according to God’s pattern.
3. David and Solomon building the temple (1 Chr. 28:2; 2 Chr. 3:1-2): David received the blueprint, Solomon carried it out.
4. Zerubbabel and Joshua rebuilding the temple (Ezra 3:8): after the return from captivity.
5. Apostles building the church (1 Cor. 3:9; 2 Cor. 6:1): coworkers with God in building the Body of Christ.

Application

1. Today the church must also be built by walking and living with God.
2. We need to see the blueprint of God’s economy.
3. We must respond in faith and in the Spirit, participating in His building.
4. We are coworkers with God and fellow members in coordination.

Scriptures (Expanded)

- Isa. 9:6: “For a child is born to us, a son is given to us; and the government will be upon His shoulder…”
- Psa. 33:9: “For He spoke, and it was; He commanded, and it stood.”
- Gen. 6:13-22: God commanded Noah to build the ark; Noah did all as God commanded.
- Exo. 25:1, 8-9: “Let them make a sanctuary for Me, that I may dwell in their midst… exactly according to the pattern which I show you.”
- 1 Chr. 28:2: David purposed in his heart to build a resting place for the Ark of God.
- 2 Chr. 3:1-2: Solomon began to build the house of the Lord in Jerusalem.
- Ezra 3:8: Zerubbabel and Joshua began the work to rebuild the house of the Lord.

Key Point

God’s building depends on God and man working together.

God provides revelation and design, and man must walk in faith and obedience.

God will not complete His building work alone but through His coworkers.

Conclusion

The principle of God’s building is coordination between God and man.

Although God is almighty, He chooses to carry out His building with man’s cooperation. Today, believers must walk with God, live with Him, and be coordinated in the church life as living stones for His building.
