How Christians Function as God’s Representatives, Acting as Deputized God
Exo. 7:1: “The LORD said to Moses, ‘See,
I have made you as God to Pharaoh, and Aaron your brother shall be your prophet.’”
Exo. 3:16-18: “Go and gather the elders of Israel… and you shall go to the
king of Egypt…”
Exo. 5:1: “Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, ‘Let My people go…’”
Aspect |
How Christians Function as God’s
Representatives, Acting as Deputized God |
Meaning |
Christians, in
life, nature, expression, and function, become one with God to live out and express Him. They represent God to shepherd and supply
people, acting as deputized God to bring God’s will, attributes, and life to others. |
Reason |
1. God’s economy is to dispense Himself into man so that man and God may be one (John 17:21). |
Method |
1. Be one with God’s heart (1 Sam. 2:35). |
Function |
1. Represent God to carry out His will (Moses—Exo. 7:1). |
Examples |
- Moses:
Made as God before Pharaoh to execute His will
(Exo. 7:1). |
Application |
1. In shepherding and service, learn to
act according to God, not self (1 Pet. 5:2). |
Related Scriptures |
- 1 Sam. 1:11: “O LORD of hosts… if You
will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant… I will give him to
the LORD all the days of his life…” |
Conclusion: |
To function as God’s representatives, believers must be one
with Him in life and nature, constituted with
His attributes, and live out His heart’s
desire. Thus, they can shepherd “according to God,” supply others with God
Himself, and fulfill His economy on earth.
