Core Scripture |
Phil. 2:9-11: "Therefore God has highly exalted Him
and bestowed on Him the name that is above every name... every tongue confess
that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Matt. 28:18: "All authority in heaven and on earth
has been given to Me." Heb. 9:24: "Christ has entered, not into holy
places made with hands... but into heaven itself, now to appear in the
presence of God on our behalf." |
Acts 2:32-33: "This Jesus God raised up... Being
therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the
Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has poured out this that you
yourselves are seeing and hearing." John 7:37-39: "If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me
and drink... Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water. Now this He said
about the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive." |
Overall Relationship |
Completion Stage: Completion of Christ's personal redemptive
work, obtaining position, authority, and glory, preparing conditions for the
Spirit's outpouring |
Application Stage: Dispensing and applying redemptive results,
the Triune God entering believers, building Christ's Body |
Ultimate Goal |
Both are for the
dispensing of the Divine Trinity: The ascension
enables Christ to obtain position and authority, while the outpouring enables the Triune God to enter into man.
The ultimate goal is to dispense God's Trinity into
believers, making them God's expression and completing God's economy |
This table clearly shows
that:
The ascension of the Son is the completion stage, Christ personally
obtains position and authority
The outpouring of the Spirit is the application stage, the Triune God is
dispensed into man
The two are closely
connected, and together they accomplish the ultimate goal of God dispensing His
Trinity into believers
Conclusion:
The Son's
ascension and the Spirit's outpouring are two inseparable stages of one
complete redemptive plan. The ascension
completed Christ's personal glorification and inauguration, while the outpouring began the Triune God's corporate dispensing
and building. Both contain the full
participation of the Triune God and represent the coordinated action of the
Divine Trinity in the economy, with the ultimate purpose of dispensing God's
Trinity into believers to make them God's expression.
