Spiritual Significance of Speaking to vs Striking the Rock: A Complete
Analysis
Exodus 17:6 I will stand before you there on the rock
at Horeb; and you shall strike the rock, and water
will come out of it for the people to drink. Moses did this in the sight of the
elders of Israel.
Numbers 20:8 Take the rod, and
assemble the congregation together, you and Aaron your brother, and speak to the rock before their eyes, that it give forth its
water; and you shall bring forth water for them
out of the rock, for the congregation and their livestock, to drink.
Joh 19:34 But one of the
soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and
immediately blood and water came out.
John 7:37 On the last day of
the festival, that great day, Jesus stood and cried out, “If anyone is thirsty,
let him come to me and drink.”
John 7:38 He who believes in
me, as the Scripture has said, out of his belly
will flow rivers of living water.
Joh 7:39 But this he spoke of
the Spirit who would receive those who believed into him. The Spirit was
not yet there, because Jesus had not yet been glorified.
