Partakers of the Divine Nature: Those Who Partake and Share in God's Divine Nature

 

1 John 3:1 "See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God."

John 1:12-13 "But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God."

2 Corinthians 12:9 "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."

Matthew 28:20 "And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."

The riches of the divine nature develop fully to include:

• 2 Peter 1:5-7 "For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love."

 

Note:

1.      This privilege of partaking in the divine nature is obtained through regeneration

2.      This is an ongoing process that requires our active participation and cooperation

3.      Although we become the same as God in life and nature, we do not become God in His Godhead
