"Everything Depends on God's Mercy"

Romans 9:15-16 "For He says to Moses, 'I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.' So then it depends not on human will or exertion, but on God, who has mercy."

All spiritual results come from God's mercy	Ephesians 2:4 "But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us." Matthew 9:13 "I desire mercy, and not sacrifice."
Examples	1. Israel's election and preservation 2. Believers' experience of regeneration and salvation 3. Paul's calling and ministry	Romans 9:23  "And He did so to make known the riches of His glory upon vessels of mercy, which He prepared beforehand for glory."
Application	1. Not relying on one's own zeal and pursuit 2. Allowing the Holy Spirit to lead to the right place 3. Needing a clear vision and encounter with God's mercy 4. Acknowledging that all spiritual gains come from God's mercy	Romans 9:16  "So then it depends not on  human will or exertion, but on God, who has mercy."
