Conquering
Rebellion |
Two major
principles exist in the universe: God's authority and Satan's rebellion |
1. Rebellion is denying God's authority and rejecting His rule 2. God wants to establish His kingdom on earth, not allowing rebellion to
continue |
1. Satan rebelled against God due to pride 2. Humans collectively
rebelled against God at Babel |
Jesus came to
establish God's kingdom, defeat Satan, and preach the
gospel for people to repent |
Revelation 11:15 "The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our
Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign for ever and ever." Mark 1:14-15 "Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming
the good news of God. 'The time has come,' he said. 'The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the
good news!'" |
The
Transfiguration of Jesus |
The kingdom of
God is the transfiguration of Jesus |
1.
Jesus' humanity was saturated and permeated
by His divinity 2. Transfiguration equals His coming in His kingdom |
Jesus' transfiguration
on the mountain |
1.
Christ as a seed sown in our hearts, growing until it blossoms and manifests in
glory 2. Christ transfigured in us becomes the kingdom of God |
Mark 9:2-3 "After six
days... Jesus took Peter, James and John... There he was transfigured before them. His clothes became dazzling white, whiter than
anyone in the world could bleach them." Matthew 17:2 "There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light." |
The Righteous
Shining Like the Sun |
When the kingdom is realized, believers'
humanity will be glorified by their divine nature |
1. The Lord will return from heaven and also emerge from within us 2. When the kingdom is fully realized, believers will enter into glory |
Overcoming
believers will be with Christ in the glory of the kingdom during the millennium |
1. Losing our soul-life for the Lord, experiencing
transfiguration in church life 2. Pursuing to be overcomers, participating in glory when the kingdom is realized |
Matthew 13:43 "Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of
their Father." Colossians 1:27
"...which is Christ in you, the hope of glory." Colossians 3:4 "When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory." |
This table and its contents reflect the theme "The Kingdom is the Conquering of Rebellion and the Transfiguration of the Lord Jesus" by
presenting three key aspects: conquering rebellion, the transfiguration
of Jesus, and the glorification of believers.
These aspects together illustrate how God's kingdom
overcomes Satan's rebellion and transforms both
Christ and His followers.
